The Effective Manager
Over the day managers get the opportunity to:
- Work on their presentation skills. This may be about presenting yourself in meetings, talking in public or just being aware of how people interact with you. Lead by an experienced actress and drama professional, you also get the opportunity for some voice coaching – projecting your voice in a large room or just making people listen in a small meeting. This goes beyond the "death by powerpoint" and traditional presentation skills training. "...illuminating..." (learn more on our testimonials page)
- Get tools and techniques for handling difficult situations – and people. You will learn how to diffuse potential conflict between people (staff and customers) as well as handling awkward and confrontational situations. As part of this, you can learn to recognise and deal with stress, both in yourself and others.
- Find out how coaching can help you as a manager. Coaching has two important principles: most people already know how to do something well – they just need to recognise it and, secondly, each individual has to take responsibility for their own development. As a manger, learn how to use basic coaching tools to get staff to think about how they work, how they could work better and take responsibility for improving their own performance. Coaching really works – use it!
PRF Solutions is working with other professionals to bring this package together. More information will be available in 2007. Places on “The Effective Manager” will be available to book from Autumn 2007.
